In this book, we explore all the ways in which we are becoming ourselves and the exciting choices we make every day in learning and growing up. Becoming is one of the three pillars of the Early Years Learning Framework which shape children’s circumstances and events. This is reflected in the significant changes the children experience as they grow and as they learn to participate actively in society. Enlighten Press’ Becoming book celebrates ways children can recognise their own becoming journey.
Teachers can use the images and text as models for focus lessons and interactive displays. Individual developmental journeys can be tracked throughout the year with anecdotal records, observations, photographs, and learning stories. These can be regularly reviewed by the child and parents.
